Combined Heat and Power

Go Greener Energy offers a range of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units to enable clients who have a significant heat load, as well as an electricity requirement to significantly boost their energy efficiency and reduce their total energy costs by up to 50%.

A range of financial incentives such as the Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA) and CCL exemption are possible helping to make the investment even more financially attractive. In some circumstances where Biogas is available, access to the UK Feed in Tariffs is possible.

Technology & Applications

For small applications up to 300kW electrical a range of gas fired CHP units with internal combustion engines is available. Typical applications include hospitals, shopping centres, and schools.

For larger applications with >300kW electrical output a range of Organic Rankine cycle units can be supplied providing very high levels of plant availability. Typical applications are factories and district heating/power schemes.

A range of lower output CHP units is also available where Biomass is the chosen fuel and the installations are not large <100kW.

PV Solar & Wind

Go Greener Energy offer a range of high quality PV Solar and Wind Power systems built to the highest standards to enable clients to gain access to the UK Feed In Tariffs and maximise financial returns.

Solar Technology

The Solar PV Modules use polycrystalline cells and are built on fully automated production lines to achieve the highest levels of quality. The PV Modules meet IEC 61215 and 61730 and are also MCS approved. The modules use of proven materials from cells to high transmittance glass enables the Modules to be supplied with a 25 Year output warranty. They are supplied direct from the manufacturer to minimise costs.

The inverters are manufactured by a global technology leader. This enables installations to achieve the highest levels of reliability. The transformerless designs also enable the highest levels of efficiency to be achieved and both three phase and single phase inverters are available

Applications

Typical applications include new commercial and industrial premises where a 10% Renewable Energy requirement has been put in place as a condition of Planning consent. All installations enable clients to achieve a tax free revenue stream indexed by RPI whilst significantly reducing their Carbon footprint and providing a hedge agianst rising electricity costs

A range of PV Module outputs is available for small rooftop and larger applications. The 230Wp modules are most used for small rooftop installations where space is limited, whilst 200 - 220Wp modules offer an economic alternative for larger installations where space is not a key constraint..

Wind Technology
A range of rugged wind turbines is available from 5kW to 1MW. These turbines have a long track record in service in some of the windiest parts of Europe and have been designed to be low maintenance as well as easy to erect

Energy Storage

Technologies and Applications

SLA - Sealed lead acid units for lower power, low maintenance applications. Our range covers typically applications up to 250Ah

Lead Acid – Covers all applications, including very high capacity, with cells up to 4,000Ah. Specific ranges are available for Renewable Energy applications such as Solar and Wind where high levels of cyclic loading as well as a comprehensive range for dc back-up power applications. A low maintenance range is also available for applications where top up maintenance is difficult or expensive.

Lithium - These batteries use the latest in Lithium cell technology combined with an active battery management system to deliver a long life. These batteries offer the very highest levels of reliability and the ultimate failure of a cell does not compromise the whole battery, unlike lead systems. These batteries are very compact and also offer excellent high temperature performance. They can be co-located with other sensitive electronic equipment because there is no hydrogen release.

NiCd – These batteries are used for diesel starting applications.

Hydro Generation

Go Greener Energy offer a comprehensive range of Hydro Power equipment suitable for Hydro installations from 50kW to 20MW

Hydropower can be one of the most cost effective ways of producing  renewable electricity, and generally offers higher efficiency (typically 70-90%) compared with  other sources such as wind and solar PV. Load outputs are typically highly predictable and load factors are usually much higher than solar PV (15%)  or wind installations (30%). Paybacks are also typically the shortest available from any of the renewable technologies particularly for high head applications.

A comprehensive range of turbine equipment including Pelton, Francis, Kaplan and Archimedean turbines is offered to cover high, medium and low head applications. Where capital costs are a major constraint a lower cost range of turbines is also available together with simple pre-fabricated steel penstocks.

 

These systems deliver very high levels of reliability combined with long operational lifetimes of up to 50 years. Maintenance costs are also low over the installation’s lifetime and are typically  just 1-2%. It is also likely that hydropower has a better energy payback ratio than other power generation technologies. All of these units would be eligible for the renewable energy Feed in Tariffs.

Diesel  & Gas Generators

Technology & Applications

Diesel Generators can be supplied with Caterpillar, MTU, Cummins and other engine options. The smaller Generator units are available in sound attenuated cabinets, and the larger Generators can be supplied as fixed units or mobile packaged units in standardized containers.

A range of outputs is available from 35kW to 2MW. The engines used are of the highest quality and efficiencies of around 240 litres/MWhr are typical for the diesel powered units.  A heavy fuel oil option is also available for the larger units.

A range of Gas engine generators is also available which can run on Natural Gas or Biogas. These generators enable clients who have access to Biogas from Anaerobic Digesters to access the UK Feed in Tariffs and achieve higher levels of returns.

These gas engines are highly reliable reciprocating engines, housed in sound attenuated containments. They are suitable for use in industrial or agricultural buildings. The units are maintained under a service contract to ensure the highest levels of reliability.
